Ingredients
  

For the Sausage Gravy:

  • 1 pound ground turkey or chicken sausage
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ cups whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional

For the Biscuit Layer:

  • 1 can 16.3 oz refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter for brushing

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  • Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Set aside.
  • Make the gravy by melting butter, whisking in flour, and gradually adding milk. Stir in cooked sausage and seasonings.
  • Press half the biscuit dough into the pie dish, pour the gravy over it, and top with the remaining biscuit dough.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
