Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups almond flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chunks or chips

For Topping (Optional)

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting
  • ¼ cup toasted almond slices
  • 1 tbsp orange zest curls

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a cake pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Combine Wet Ingredients:

  • In another bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Add granulated sugar and mix until fully incorporated.
  • Stir in melted butter, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the dark chocolate chunks or chips.

Bake the Cake:

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (no wet batter).

Cool and Decorate:

  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar, and garnish with toasted almond slices and orange zest curls (optional).

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Slice the cake and serve with fresh orange slices, a dollop of whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
